Cape JROTC cadets excel at annual competition

Seven Cape Henlopen High School JROTC cadets earned Color Guard, Drill, Marksmanship, Academic and individual awards while competing against 16 high school JROTC teams from Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey in the annual Seaford Fallen Heroes multi-team competition.

Cadet Giuseppi Moreno won first place, and Cadet Enoch Jacobson-Hagan won a sixth-place medal in drill competition with over 250 other cadets. Cadet Davi Martins won the Commendation Medal for Team Drill; Cadets David Collord and Michael Burnett won first- and second-place medals for Academic Knowledge.

In addition, Cadet R.J. Gooner won a medal for Marksmanship, and Cadets Almita Ramirez, Enoch Jacobson-Haga, Andrea Lopez, and Matt DeLuca won medals for First Year Color Guard. Cadet Almita Ramirez was awarded a Commendation Medal for her outstanding leadership of the Color Guard.
