October 20, 2016

Junior Zack Gelof scored twice in one minute in the second half and the Cape defense kept Milford at bay, as the Vikings outdueled the Bucs 2-1 Oct. 18 on Senior Night at Legends Stadium.

“We played well against Milford,” said Cape coach Patrick Kilby. “We controlled the tempo and the majority of the possession.”

Aidan Spoor and Uly Slagle each had an assist in the contest.

“Zack [Gelof] did a fantastic job of putting away the goals from Aidan and Uly,” said Kilby.

Cape outshot the Bucs 17-5, with Milford goalie Khiry Hovington making 15 saves. Cape keeper Alan Marin made four saves.

The Vikings are back in action Thursday, Oct. 20, when they travel to Caesar Rodney for a matchup with the 8-3 Riders. Cape wraps up the regular season Tuesday, Oct. 25, with a road game at Dover.
