Cape soccer team remains undefeated at 6-0

Gelof nets four in Vikings’ victory

Zack Gelof continued his 2017 goalfest by scoring four in the Vikings’ 8-0 win over visiting Seaford Sept. 26 at Legends Stadium. He has totaled 16 goals in the last six games.

Gelof lit up the scoreboard with three goals in the first 10 minutes of the game. He tallied the fourth at the 57-minute mark of the second half. Assisting on the goals were Dane Palmer, and Uly Slagle with two. Slagle also assisted on goals by Chris Gonzalez and Aidan Spoor. He also added a goal on a penalty kick at the 79-minute mark.

Cape outshot the Blue Jays 13-7. Cape goalie Jake Gelof stopped four Seaford shots and fellow goalie Alan Marin made three saves. Blue Jays goalkeeper Cory Derohn made five saves.

Cape remains undefeated at 6-0, while the Jays moved to 3-3.

The Vikings traveled to Sussex Central Thursday, Sept. 28.
