Cape wrestling grapples at Battle at the Beach

Vikings in 11th place after day one

The Cape Henlopen wrestling squad took to the mats at the Battle at the Beach Dec. 28-29 at Indian River High School, where teams from Delaware and the tri-state area competed for the coveted Battle at the Beach trophy. 

After the first day of action, the Vikings were in 11th place with 51.5 points. Anthony Caruso, Andre Currie and Chris Handlin had moved into the semis, with Jackson Handlin, Roy Jones and Billy Ott grappling in the wrestlebacks.

Sussex Central was in first place after Day 1 with 96 points, while Caesar Rodney was in second with 90.
