Capital Ringers handbell ensemble to perform May 6

Concerts at 2:30 p.m. in Lewes, 7 p.m. in Ocean View

Capital Ringers community handbell ensemble will present its spring show, Ringin’ Rhythms, at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, May 6, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Second and Mulberry streets in Lewes. A second performance will take place at 7 p.m. at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave. in Ocean View. This creative musical concert will include selections such as “Here Comes the Sun,” “Viva La Vida,” “Dancing Queen,” and “Classical Gas,” and will be accompanied by talented percussionist Ken Schleifer of local rockabilly band Oh Boy! Admission is a freewill offering. 

Capital Ringers Inc. is a 501(c)(3) community English handbell ensemble that entertains and educates concert audiences with an extensive repertoire of rock ’n’ roll, patriotic, sacred and current top 40 tunes, performing on the largest set of handbells on the Delmarva Peninsula. Their combination of handbells, percussion instruments, movement, audience interaction, humor and visual technology creates a show that will appeal to people of all ages. Founded in 2004 by Artistic Director Linda Simms, Capital Ringers’ mission is to provide performances that demonstrate the artistic diversity of English handbells.
