Carper tours remodeled medical laboratory facilities at Delaware Tech

February 11, 2018

Sen. Tom Carper and representatives from Siemens Healthineers recently visited Delaware Technical Community College's newly renovated medical laboratory technician lab and classroom in the Jason Technology Center at the Owens Campus in Georgetown.

Siemens Healthineers provided a $20,000 grant to assist with the renovations. Siemens has been a great partner for Delaware Tech for a number of years. The company has provided in-kind equipment and tours of its facility in Glasgow for students. Siemens also employs several Delaware Tech graduates from the medical laboratory technician program.

The renovations made to the lab provided students with a cleaner and more spacious learning environment. The lab was also extended to allow room for additional equipment in a separate area, and to create a walk-through to an adjacent classroom to allow for lecturing and study time.
