Cassandra M. Ooten, found joy in everything

Cassandra M. Ooten, 25, of Millsboro passed away gently at Christiana Hospital in Newark from a rapid-onset sudden illness. She was born Nov. 23, 1992, to Tracey and Juanita Ooten Harris in Wichita, Kan.

She moved to Delaware at 6 months of age, and was a lifelong Delawarean. She was always upbeat and friendly, and was easygoing. She found a joy in everything. She was an avid NASCAR fan, and devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. In addition, she loved watching Charmed and cooking shows. She especially loved to experiment in the kitchen.

She is survived by her parents, Tracey and Juanita Harris; and four siblings: Shawn Harris of Stilwell, Okla., and Travis Harris, Bethany Harris and Savannah Harris, all of Millsboro. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents: Loyd and Lynne Harris of Stilwell, and Robert and Deborah Vaughn of Camden. She is also survived by her beloved canine pal Gage.

Calling hours and a time of visitation with the family will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 4, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to: Spina Bifida Association.
