Cecilia P. Toomey, loved children and church
Cecilia P. Toomey, 84, of Georgetown, passed away at the Harrison House Senor Living Center in Georgetown Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017. She was born May 5, 1933, in Berlin, Md., to the late Willis and Flossie Franklin Webb.
She married James C. Toomey, who survives her, and together they shared over 55 years of marriage. They raised four children. She loved yard sales and thrift stores, but the most important thing in the world to her were her children, grandchildren and her church. She attended Rock Church in Laurel.
In addition to her husband James, she is survived by her children: Harry Webb of Harrington, James A. Toomey of Bridgeville, Cecelia M. Toomey of Bridgeville, and Victoria Benson of Seaford. She also has 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She leaves behind an extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Walter Webb and Harry Webb.
A time of visitation and viewing will be held at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Wednesday, Nov. 22, from 11:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m.
Everyone will gather at 1 p.m. in the Selbyville Redmen's Cemetery on Rpute 54 in Selbyville for a graveside service and interment.
Floral tributes are welcomed, or memorial contributions to the Compassionate Care Hospice.
