Celebrity chef cook-off to benefit Milton Historical Society Oct. 15

September 2, 2016

The Milton Historical Society announced its inaugural fundraiser, the King Cole Cannery Celebrity Chef Cook-off and Gourmet Wine Basket Raffle, is set from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, in the Milton Fire Hall. Tickets to the cook-off are $25 each and are limited to the first 200 reservations. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste samples from local celebrity chefs from Rehoboth, Milton and Milford.

The names of these prominent chefs will be released weekly starting Friday, Sept. 2 via the Milton Historical Society Facebook page. All chefs will be competing using fruits and vegetables in their recipes that would have been canned at a local King Cole Cannery. Attendees will have a vote in deciding the winner of the King Cole Cannery Celebrity Chef Cook-off.

Also, there will be a raffle of 12 gourmet wine and food baskets, each themed around an international city including Calcutta, Havana, Honolulu, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Osaka, Paris, Rome, St. Petersburg and Milton. Winning tickets will be drawn throughout the evening in the order listed above.

All baskets include four bottles of wine and a cookbook. Each basket is valued at $250. Tickets are $25 each. Entrants do not need to be present to win. A cash bar will offer a selection of wine, Dogfish Head beer and soft drinks. Funds raised at this event go to support the museum's programs, walking tours, lectures, new exhibitions and a wide variety of educational programs for local children.

To purchase raffle tickets or event tickets, each $25, send an email to info@historicmilton.org or call 302-684-1010.
