Charis Martin photography at Upper Crust through Jan. 6

December 10, 2016

The Upper Crust in Georgetown will present an exhibit by Charis Martin at the cafe through Friday, Jan. 6. It is running concurrently with works by Delaware Tech photography students. There is no charge to see the exhibit. Martin, a Delaware native, has a passion for art and the emotion it evokes. She has been in the art world for awhile, having studied at Southern Delaware School of the Arts in middle school. Now she is a design studies major at West Virginia University where she focuses on creative problem solving.

Martin is from Lewes and went to Cape Henlopen High School. In spring 2016, she took a traveling photography class studying abroad in Stellenbosch, South Africa, where she was inspired to get more serious about photography. During her time abroad, she was drawn into taking pictures of the vibrant colors of the houses, the exotic food and the animals. Her inspiration will continue this coming spring when she finishes her last semester of college studying abroad in Canterbury, England.

To see more of her work go to www.instagram.com and search charismartinphotography or email cwmartin@mix.wvu.edu.

The Upper Crust serves made-from-scratch baked goods, fair trade organic coffee, breakfast and lunch in a casual setting. For more information, go to www.theuppercrust.info or call 302-856-2300.
