March 17, 2017

Throughout March, Chesapeake & Maine in Rehoboth Beach has an incredible lineup of events to celebrate its one-year anniversary and the debut of Dogfish Head Distilling Co.'s new whiskies. In honor of National Cocktail Day Friday, March 24, Chesapeake & Maine will debut its spring cocktail list and offer Happy Hour pricing on the brand new concoctions. Customer favorites like Salt & Pepper Cup, Whole Leaf Gin, Fresh-Squeezed Lime Juice and Simple Syrup and Bierre-Hatten, Bullet Rye, World Wide Stout Marron, Bierremouth and Immort Ale Bitters will remain on the menu.

Chesapeake & Maine is also thrilled to announce that it has been nationally recognized for its cocktail program by the James Beard Foundation. The prestigious James Beard Foundation Awards, often referred to as the Oscars of the culinary world, has recognized Chesapeake & Maine as a semi-finalist for 2017 Outstanding Bar Program. Chesapeake & Maine's from-scratch cocktail program showcases Dogfish Head Distilling's Whole Leaf Gin, Compelling Gin and Analog Vodka in a selection of seasonally changing drinks. Guests can also enjoy keg-conditioned cocktails and fresh ingredient-inspired off-centered ales on tap.

"It's an honor to receive this nod from our peers as we celebrate the anniversary of our first year in business at Chesapeake & Maine," says Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head founder and CEO. "I celebrate this award with my 200-plus co-workers who work hard to make Dogfish Head tick," says Calagione, who has received seven consecutive nominations for Outstanding Wine, Beer or Spirits Professional. "We're humbled and excited that James Beard recognized our innovative, culinary-inspired bar program as it combines our love for our two favorite maritime regions into one delicious restaurant concept."
