Christopher Paul D'Amico, nationally known journalist

October 17, 2017

Nationally known journalist and editor Christopher Paul D'Amico lost his battle with cancer at the age of 58 Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, surrounded by family.

Most recently he worked for USA Today, but had previously been with the Newark Star-Ledger, Chicago Sun-Times, The National, The Daily, Fox Sports Media Group, and the Trentonian, among others.

Chris was known for his love of family, eclectic music, and the Philadelphia Eagles. His colleagues recall him as sharp, decisive, and hard working. He was admired for his generosity, sense of humor, his passion, and the way he inspired and mentored others.

His varied music collection was the background for the family's annual "Dinner of the Seven Fishes," held each year around Christmas whenever he, his brothers and their families could be together at Mom and Dad's.

Left to cherish Chris's memory are his parents, Antonio and Regina (Berger) D'Amico of Lewes; his children, Matthew Richard D'Amico and Suzanne Regina D'Amico and his wife of 26 years, Christine (Kenney) D'Amico of Ocean, N.J.; brothers Antonio D'Amico Jr., Joseph D'Amico and wife Mary Beth of Lewes, and Michael D'Amico; nieces Gina and Veronica D'Amico and nephew Joseph D'Amico Jr.; and his parents-in-law, Richard and Joan Kenney of Cherry Hill, N.J., and their family. He will be missed by many other close family members, cousins, friends and colleagues.

Chris's life will be celebrated with family and close friends.

The family is establishing a scholarship in Chris' memory. The Christopher P. D'Amico Memorial Journalism Scholarship will benefit future generations of journalists. Details will be posted at chrispdamico.blogspot.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to this fund.
