Cinema by the Canal to show ‘Jaws’ free Aug. 24

August 17, 2017

The original summer blockbuster "Jaws" will be shown at dusk, Thursday, Aug. 24, in Lewes Canalfront Park, 211 Front St. in historic Lewes on the banks of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal. The movie is free thanks to the support of Citizens Bank and Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park. Attendees may bring a blanket or lawn chair and refreshments.

Just like the beautiful Delaware beaches, Amity Island has everything: clear skies, white sand, gentle surf and warm water. People flock there every summer, but it is the perfect feeding ground. A huge great white shark arrives off the shores of Amity on the biggest summer weekend and wreaks havoc with bloody attacks on swimmers.

After seeing "Jaws," some may never go into the water again.
