Clarence Spady to play Prince Oct. 14 for Rehoboth Jazz Festival concert

September 19, 2017

A longtime favorite at the former Sydney’s Blues & Jazz Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, Clarence Spady will return Saturday, Oct. 14. Spady’s show, an ode to the work of artist Prince, will take place at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach as part of the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival.

Many are saying Spady’s show is the best representation of Prince being performed today. Like Prince, Spady is a man bursting with music that often defies specific genres.  With an energy that is inexhaustible, Spady and his band bring a reverence to the music that communicates uncontrollable joy. He will perform many of Prince’s hit songs, including “Purple Rain,” “Raspberry Beret,” “Let’s Go Crazy” and “Sign of the Times.”

Inducted into the International Blues Hall of Fame in 2012, Spady is on the cusp of a new release on Severn Records in 2018 when “Witness To Your Love” drops.   For tickets to the Oct. 14 show go to rehobothjazz.com.
