Clean Water Forum set May 12 in Rehoboth

Ten experts will participate in the second annual Clean Water Forum set for Friday, May 12, in Rehoboth Beach.

The event, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Atlantic Sands Hotel, will explore topics including aquaculture, nutrient pollution, wastewater systems, agriculture and more.

This year's featured speakers are Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control environmental scientist David Wolanski; Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitiation Institute Executive Director Suzanne Thurman; University of Delaware Marine Advisory Services Specialist John Ewart; Delaware State University researcher Dennis McIntosh; state Sen. Byran Townsend of the Clean Water and Flood Abatement Task Force; Diamond State Sustainability Corp. President Jeremy Kalmbacher; EDEN Delmarva Executive Director D.C. Kuhns; Southeastern Rural Community Action Project State Director of Delaware Jean Holloway; Envirotech President and aquatic biologist Todd Fritchman; and farmer R.C. Willin. Tidewater Utilities President Gerard Esposito will be the master of ceremonies, and U.S. Sen. Tom Carper will be featured in a video greeting at the event.

The forum, sponsored by EDEN Delmarva and the Inland Bays Foundation, is $39 per person and includes continental breakfast and lunch. The Atlantic Sands Hotel is at 101 N. Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach.
