Clubhouse at Baywood to host Wine Education Lunch Nov. 7

The Clubhouse at Baywood, located in the community of Baywood in Long Neck, is now offering a Wine Education Lunch series on the first Saturday of each month. The next event is at 12:30 p.m., Nov. 7 in the restaurant, which is part of the SoDel Concepts hospitality group.

"The lunches are designed for beginners and seasoned wine aficionados," said Danielle Panarello, director of operations at The Clubhouse at Baywood, who with Lisa Chambers, general manager, and Chef Tom Deptula, spoke at the first lunch in October. "We love to share our passion for wine - and food - in a friendly setting. Our first event in October was a big success."

Chambers said, "The series gives guests the opportunity to do something fun and different on a Saturday."

Each lunch features three courses and four wines. The Nov. 7 menu includes:

Burrata
Poached pear, pomegranate, roasted fall squash, hazelnuts, frisee
Served with Urban Riesling, Nik Weis Selection, Mosel, 2016

Chicken & Dumplings
Fresh biscuits, honey-roasted free-range chicken, veloute sauce, roasted vegetables

or

Duck salad
Local greens, citrus, radish, crispy wontons, sweet chili vinaigrette

Served with The Immortal Zin, Old Vine, 2013, and Camina, Tempranillo, Spain, 2016

Pumpkin flan
Pumpkin seed biscotti
Served with McManis Viogner, River Junction, California 2013
