Crohn's and Colitis Foundation fundraiser set at Crooked Hammock Sept. 13

Walk to step off Sept. 16 in Rehoboth Beach
September 12, 2017

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's annual Eastern Shore Take Steps Walk will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand. Event check-in will open at 10 a.m. and walkers will step off at 11 a.m. Take Steps is the foundation's largest and most visible fundraising campaign, which takes place in over 120 communities across the country.

"This is what I call the invisible disease," said Gabrielle Rosenfeld, 29, who has been suffering with Crohn's for 15 years. "It's not a disease you can see, but people are suffering with it. The walk is a scenic and family-friendly one-mile loop around the Boardwalk and surrounding side streets in Rehoboth Beach. The event will be a fun, festive and meaningful morning as the foundation works to build awareness and raise funds for those suffering with inflammatory bowel disease in our community."

After walkers return, they will be treated to a live performance by The Pete Muppets, a group featuring Anthony Baray, Roger Hillis and Pete Weidman of Green Means Go! The Crooked Hammock Brewery in Lewes will host an after-party at its outdoor patio-bar for registered Take Steps walkers.

From 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13, Crooked Hammock will also be donating 10 percent of all restaurant proceeds to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. So be sure to stop by and support a great cause.
