Cruise drawing to be held at Milford Bug & Bud Festival April 29
Attendees at this year's Milford Bug & Bud Festival Saturday, April 29, can come for the fun and walk away with a Caribbean cruise. That day at 3 p.m., Milford Mayor Bryan Shupe will draw the name of one lucky ticket holder to win a cruise vacation for two on Royal Caribbean International. The raffle is part of Kent-Sussex Industries' efforts to support people with disabilities in their communities.
In recent years, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services instituted a final ruling that all services benefiting people with disabilities that are funded by Medicaid should be delivered in the most community-integrated setting possible. For many agencies serving the disability populations, this final rule has meant building greater transportation and staffing resources to accommodate more community-integrated programming. This includes KSI, a Milford nonprofit dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities gain community employment and inclusion opportunities.
KSI started the Cruisin' for a Cause Raffle as a fundraising effort to purchase additional wheelchair lift-equipped vehicles, helping more people with disabilities access community work, learning and contribution trips. KSI is selling tickets now until the drawing for a voucher good toward a four- to five-night cruise for two on Royal Caribbean. With open departure and cruise destinations based on Royal Caribbean's available trips, the Grand Prize of an ocean view stateroom for two, with a $25 excursion voucher and all taxes and tips included, awaits one lucky ticket buyer.
For a chance to win the vacation of a lifetime, tickets are $5 each, or $20 for five chances. Second prize is $100 cash and third prize is $50 cash. While the winners are not required to be in attendance at the drawing, the Bug & Bud Festival is a fantastic day of community fun, food and music not to be missed. KSI fundraising organizers are honored to announce their cruise raffle winner during one of Delaware's finest events.
