Crystal H. Lingenfelter, retired chemistry teacher

Crystal H. Lingenfelter, 68, of Frankford, formerly of East Brunswick, N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at home. She was born in Plainfield, N.J., March 22, 1949, daughter of the late William J. Hicks and Elli (Wobus) Hicks.

She received her bachelor's degree from Montclair State University and her master's degree from Rutgers University.

Crystal was a high school chemistry teacher, primarily at the Woodbridge Township High School for over 25 years, retiring in 2009. She was awarded the Teacher of the Year in 2005 for the Woodbridge School District and was a member of the National Science Teachers Association.

After retiring to Delaware, she enjoyed going to the beach, boating and belonging to the "Fit Chicks" group. She loved spending time with her family. Crystal will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, "Ama" and friend.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jerry Lingenfelter; a daughter, Tara Palmieri and her spouse Jodiann Palmieri; three grandchildren, Brayden, Shane and Shawn Palmieri; a niece who was like her second daughter, Teri Peters; and several other nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Crystal's life will be held at noon, Monday, Jan. 15, at the Millville United Methodist Church, 36405 Club House Road, Millville, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m. A second memorial service will be held at noon, Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 568 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
