Daniel Gregory Mifflin, skilled worker

Daniel Gregory Mifflin, 61, of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Kent General Hospital. Daniel, affectionately known as Danny, was born July 11, 1956, in Milford to Lula Mifflin (Rowley).

He attended Sussex Central High School. While traditional schooling was not his forte, Danny relocated to New York and pursued studies at various trade schools. After graduating, Danny accepted a position as a custodian at the World Trade Center Building No. 1 where he worked for several years before returning home to Georgetown.

He was quite skilled with his hands. He became a carpenter by trade, building custom windows and doors at local manufacturers. Danny could disassemble almost any device, electronic or mechanical, and put it back together from memory. He also designed and crafted furniture.

Danny was a likeable and very presentable person. He liked his things neat and orderly. He was also known for having a sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Rowley; stepfather Randolph Rowley; brother Ronald Mifflin; and his father Julius Speed.

He leaves to cherish his memories two sisters and four brothers: Angela Griffith, Julia Tabron, Marvin (Sherry) Abbott, Bishop Roland Mifflin, Randolph Mifflin and Peter (Eugenia) Rowley. Danny leaves two aunts: Ruth Ann Fletcher and Martha Mifflin; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Friends and family may call for visitation and viewing Saturday, Feb. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Funeral services will be private.
