Daniel Timothy Rappold, loving and passionate

Daniel Timothy Rappold, "Tim," 65, of Lewes, passed away suddenly Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes. He was born Wednesday, Sept. 12, 1951, in Baltimore City, Md., son of the late Daniel and Kathleen (Gleeson) Rappold.

Tim graduated from Dulaney High School in Timonium, Md., in 1969. He went on to receive his master's degree in information systems from the University of Baltimore. On Oct. 2, 1981, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Precht in Towson, Md. Tim worked as the facilities manager at Good Shepherd Services in Halethorpe, Md., until he retired in August 2015. Most recently he worked at Lowe’s in Lewes. He was a huge Baltimore Ravens football fan. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, reading, home improvement and traveling.

Tim was the kind of guy who always made you feel welcome. He was humble and thoughtful, always with a smile on his lips. Tim was a loving and passionate person who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his sister, Susanne Smith of Lutherville, Md. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Katie (Precht) Rappold of Lewes, formerly of Howard County, Md.; his son Chris Rappold and his girlfriend Casey Bobrow of Silver Spring, Md.; his niece, Carrie Bowers, her husband Jon Cardon and their children: Georgia, Madison, Charlie and Jadelyn, all of Mount Airy, Md.; his aunt and uncle, Robert and Peggy Fishpaugh of Marriottsville, Md.; and multiple beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m., at the Oakwood Village clubhouse, Lewes. The family would like to welcome friends, neighbors and co-workers to join together to fondly celebrate the life of Tim Rappold. Please bring your thoughts, stories, and laughter as we reminisce about the wonderful, kind and caring man, Tim. A Celebration of Life in Howard County, Md., will be held at a later date.
