Dash for a Draft 5K raises funds for DSP mounted patrol

112 runners take part in inaugural event

The inaugural Dash for a Draft 5K supporting the Delaware State Police Mounted Patrol Unit was held April 8 at Irish Eyes Pub on Union Street in Milton, where 112 runners finished the event. Proceeds will go to the expenses for care and training equipment of the horses in this prestigious unit.

The DSPMPU is a nonprofit organization that enhances the traditional function of the Delaware State Police during public events and specialized patrol activities as well as paying formal respect to fallen comrades.

Awards were given to all male and female winners along with with the top three male and female finishers in 10 age categories 13 and under to 70 and over as well as the top three male and female walkers.
