Daughters of American Colonists present awards to female cadets

The Delaware State Society of the Daughters of American Colonists presented the Medal of Award and a Certificate of Appreciation in five schools in Delaware to female cadets who were students in their high school's JROTC Program. This medal may be given to a cadet in an ROTC program in college or high school who demonstrates proficiency in academic subjects and ROTC activities, and good citizenship.

This year's recipients were Nicole Surface, Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes; Haley Knowles, Sussex Technical High School, Georgetown; Victoria Szabo-Block, Woodbridge High School, Bridgeville; Raiyanah Allen, Glasgow High School, Newark; and Alyssa Mooney, Mount Pleasant High School, Wilmington.

On behalf of State Regent Theresa Bruner, Nancy Barlow presented the awards at Cape Henlopen High School and Sussex Technical High School, and Donna Draper presented the award at Glasgow High School and Mount Pleasant High School.
