David Kline, retired state trooper

David Kline, 58, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and
 friends he loved, Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, in Ocean View.



David is survived by his mother, Rita Kline of Youngstown, Ohio;
 children Shanna and Nicole Kline; siblings Diane, Robert and Daniel
 Kline; and former wife, Jayne Kline.



David was born Sept. 4, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Rita and
 Edgar Kline. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 1982
, with a degree in criminal justice. After moving to Delaware, David
 began working for the Dewey Beach Police Department and later became a 
Delaware State Trooper, where he retired from after 22 years of service. 


His children remember him as a driven father who encouraged them to
 pursue their goals. He was an enthusiastic man who loved the beach,
 gardening, watching the sunset, fishing, his dogs and spending time
 with his family.



In keeping with the wishes of David, there will be no funeral
 services. Please contact the family for details of the upcoming
private wake in celebration of David's life.
