June 6, 2018

Delaware Technical Community College’s baseball team narrowly missed a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIX Tournament, losing in the qualifying round, but three players were recognized for their outstanding 2018 season.

Sophomore Kyle Lux was named First-Team All-Region, while sophomores Nicco German and Tyler Cunningham were named Second-Team All-Region.

Lux, from Lewes, a graduate of Sussex Tech High School, batted .384 with 58 hits, 39 RBIs and four home runs. German, from Burke, Va., batted .337 with 30 hits and 23 RBIs, and Cunningham, from Lawrenceville, N.J., batted .318 with 41 hits and 31 RBIs.

All three also had solid defensive seasons. Lux had a .955 fielding percentage, while Cunningham had a .966 fielding percentage and German had an .850 fielding percentage.

“It is always nice to see some of our student-athletes receive recognition for a tremendous season,” said Collegewide Athletics Coordinator Tom Lemon. “Hopefully our returning baseball players will strive to achieve the same success and recognition next season.”
