Del Tech's Culinary Arts Program named among 50 best

October 12, 2016

Delaware Technical Community College's Culinary Arts program was recently named among the 50 Best Culinary Schools in the United States by Best Choice Schools. The winners included educational institutions that were nationally accredited and offered hands-on experience, internship opportunities, student-operated restaurants, modern facilities and a solid reputation in the industry.

According to Best Choice Schools' website www.bestchoiceschools.com/rankings/culinary-schools/, "The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the demand for chefs and head cooks at restaurants and other establishments will grow 9 percent, faster than most other industries in the country. With the popularity of cooking shows and competitions, more and more people are discovering the field of culinary arts and what it takes to be successful in the industry. Earning a certificate or degree in the field not only provides the experience and training needed to get your foot in the door, it also provides a foundation for upward mobility to become future leaders and trend setters in the industry."

The Delaware Tech Culinary Arts program ranked at number 35 on the list for its diverse educational experience for students who are studying to be a chef, pastry chef, baker, food service manager, kitchen manager or line cook. The college's program is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation and had a 100 percent employment rate for 2015 graduates.

The Culinary Arts program is offered at the Terry Campus in Dover and the Stanton Campus in Newark. For more information on Delaware Tech's Culinary Arts program, go to https://www.dtcc.edu/academics/programs-study/culinary-arts.
