Delaware Beach Storage Center cuts ribbon

Community officials, local businesses and government officials, subcontractors, friends and family attended the ribbon cutting celebration June 16 to cap off the 13-month-long project building Delaware Beach Storage Center. The ribbon cutting was sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce.

The new, state of the art 106,000-square-foot, three-story storage facility is conveniently located just one mile north of Five Points off Route 1 at the Nassau Bridge. Local residents Blair and Timarie Thompson were excited to celebrate the new self-storage building.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide Sussex County residents and visitors alike with a top-of the-line storage option. In addition to providing a new, modern storage space for our growing population, our new location will offer    residents and visitors a safe and convenient option to store their contents - short or long term,” said Blair Thompson. “This grand opening event is important to the community  because customers now have the opportunity to come to our facility and see the new products and services we have to offer,” he continued. “Sussex County continues to see residential growth year after year, with even more people choosing to live at the beaches in tax-free Delaware.”

“Blair and Timarie, who are Sussex County residents, saw a need in the community for quality climate-controlled storage and had the vision to provide a solution.  With remarkable commitment and dedication they undertook this large project, and today we celebrate the opening of Delaware Beach Storage Center, as well as the local tradespeople who contributed thousands of man hours to complete this project,” said Sen. Ernie Lopez, R-Lewes.

The modern facility has a total of 680 units including climate-controlled (heated and cooled) spaces as well as traditional drive-up units, ranging in size from 25 to 400 square feet, some of which are individually alarmed and have 24-hour access. Residential, community, commercial and professional storage (including records storage) are offered. Additionally, the facility provides a limited number of gated-access RV and boat storage and secure indoor and outdoor vehicle storage.

The new self-storage facility reflects the company’s mantra, “Building Quality Storage From The Ground Up.”  From the modern facility design to the free Easy Access smart phone app to easy-to-access storage units, to the state-of-the-art technology to multiple elevators, Delaware Beach Storage Center’s goal is to provide all customers with a superior storage environment.
