Delaware Decision Makers discuss nonprofits

January 4, 2018

Delaware Decision Makers, an organization founded by Dave Tiberi and Delaware Business Leaders, held its monthly luncheon meeting Dec. 14 in New Castle, hosted by Colonial School District Superintendent Dr. Dusty Blakey. The organization meets monthly to share experience, ideas and suggestions among Delaware's business, civic, organizational, nonprofit, public safety and elected leaders.

Around 60 leaders attended to hear presenters from across the state discuss nonprofit organizations that bring a great deal of service to the people of Delaware through planning and engagement with community leaders and volunteers. The organizations, some of which receive small stipends from the state, save taxpayers millions of dollars. Social services, training programs and engagement with youth were topics of discussion among the panelists and the audience which included business owners, educational leaders and social organization heads.

During the 90-minute meeting, they discussed mission, methods, challenges and successes, along with lessons learned and shared experiences.
