Delaware Electric Cooperative Host 80th Annual Meeting and Community Fair

August 27, 2016

Delaware Electric Cooperative held its annual community fair and business meeting Aug. 9 at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington. Members were treated to a free chicken dinner and had a chance to visit with various community organizations and hear an update on the state of the cooperative from President and CEO Bill Andrew. Included was a utility demonstration, where co-op crews showed members how they restore power and rescue those who are injured without the help of a bucket truck. More than 6,000 DEC people attended the 80th annual meeting of the member-owned cooperative.  According to Bill Andrew, “For eight decades, our annual meeting has provided co-op members with the opportunity to connect with the employees who keep their lights on. We look forward to this event every year. It provides members with important information about their member-owned utility and gives DEC the chance to hear from those we serve.”
