Delaware Hospice receives donation from Rose Colored Lasses

January 19, 2017

Delaware Hospice wants to acknowledge the hard work of the homegrown community-centered organization called The Rose Colored Lasses for their continued support of the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Through their efforts this holiday season, they raised $3,450. Their ninth annual Christmas House Tour was held Dec. 18 to raise money for the Delaware Hospice Center. Visitors were given house tours through several wonderfully decorated homes in the Milford area including the Parson Thorne Mansion. The night ended with wine and appetizers at the Delaware Hospice Center. Organizations that donated items include A Latte Soul, Applebee's of Milford, Abbott's Grill, Nage, Panificio Di Canevari and Meding's Seafood.

Through their 12-year history, The Rose Colored Lasses have organized and executed a variety of events to help support organizations like the Delaware Hospice Center, American Cancer Society, Home of the Brave Women's Facility and KenCrest Group Home. Dee Greenlee, member and house tour chair, said, "This is gratifying work because Delaware Hospice provides a comfortable place for people when they need it. All I have to do is mention that the event is for Delaware Hospice, and individuals and organizations generously give because so many have been touched by their services."

"The Rose Colored Lasses have been a great community partner to work with over the years, and their collaboration has afforded many opportunities for our patients and families," said Clinical Supervisor of Inpatient Services Debbie Taylor, RN, BA. "This year's donation of $3,450 will help us complete our purchase of new love seats for each of our patients' rooms. The Delaware Hospice Center is very appreciative of all the local support, and it is always a pleasure to work with the Lasses."
