Delaware Outdoor Expo to launch March 11

The Delaware State News is introducing a new event for outdoor enthusiasts, a Delaware Outdoor Expo set 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 11, at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington. This event will showcase hunting, fishing, boating and other outdoor activities enjoyed along the East Coast.

Baker's Power & Turf/Husqvarna Group from Millsboro is a sponsor that will have two key displays featuring their Husqvarna outdoor power equipment. Rich King from delaware-surf-fishing.com will also be featured at the event. King is a local surf fishing expert, social media celebrity and outdoors columnist for the Delaware State News. In addition to helping put together the event, he will be on hand to swap stories and share his expertise on Delaware surf fishing.

There will be more than 70 vendors to visit for lures and tackle, decoys, game calls, surf fishing, fly fishing, archery, taxidermy, apparel, charter boat trips, paddleboards, dog trainers, dog collars and leashes, and others including Cabela's, Carlisle's Marine, Delaware State Chapter National Wild Turkey Federation, Delaware State Parks, Diamond Motor Sports, i.g. Burton and Tow Boat US.

Attendees will be able to feed their hunger for food at the eight full-menu food trucks selling everything from Nathan's Hot Dogs to Greek cuisine, Cajun delicacies and classic American fare. Fifer Orchards will be baking apple cider donuts on site.

Speakers and demonstrations include Harry Aiken on Delaware Surf Fishing, "Good Dog!" People Training by Eugenia Thornton, paddleboard fishing by Delmarva Board Sport Adventures, wild turkey calling and hunting by Competition Game Calls, basic dog training by Peterson's Positive Pups, and an introduction to kayaking by Chris Erby with Delaware Paddlesports. There will be some great door prizes that all attendees 18 and older will be eligible to win including fishing reels, time on a firearm simulator, fishing trips, gift certificates and more.To purchase tickets for $5 each, go to www.Eventbrite.com and search for Delaware Outdoor Expo.
