Delaware Resorts Home Expo draws big crowd
The 21st annual Delaware Resorts Home Expo kept a steady stream of visitor traffic moving through Cape Henlopen High School’s front doors April 7-8, despite less-than-beautiful weather.
"We were busy all weekend," said Kathy Benson, Home Expo founder and coordinator. "Expo visitors were waiting at the door when we opened at 9 a.m., Saturday, and they continued to arrive in large numbers throughout the weekend.”
The Home Expo featured more than 80 exhibitors presenting nearly every home product or service, as well as homes and developments themselves. Visitors were treated to extraordinary visual displays of new homes, developments and working models of various home services. There were actual porches, patios, home technology and entertainment centers, working rain gutters, beautiful coastal furniture, solar power exhibits, outdoor lighting, window treatments and hot tubs.
Visitor attendance for the two days was estimated at more than 3,000, and exhibitor consensus was very positive, Benson said. Home Expo sponsors included All State Insurance, Andersen Windows, Cape Gazette, Comcast Spotlight, WMDT/ABC, Clean Cut Interlocking Pavers & Pools, Clean Energy USA, DelMarVa Resorts Realty, and Schagrin Gas and Schell Brothers.
