Delmarva Christian High School holds 13th commencement ceremony

Delmarva Christian High School held its 13th Commencement Ceremony May 26 in the school's arts and athletics center. Six musically talented seniors performed a song that echoed the school year's theme of Laus Deo, Praise Be To God.

Keyboardist Olivia Anderson was the 2017 valedictorian. She was accompanied by Abby Johnson, Kainat Chaudhary, Cailin McKeon, Haley Niethammer and Jillian Yi as they presented "Ever Be."

Delmarva Christian Schools board member and founding father Jim Brown spoke to the seniors. He talked about an equation for success, some of his favorite books and scripture, and he kept referring back to the same six words from the school's mission statement: "to know and do God's will." He said, "We celebrate your high school accomplishments today. But tomorrow, seize that opportunity that God gives you. Run to the Lion. Remember to know and do God's will."
