Dennis S.P. Fletcher Sr., owned landscaping company
Dennis S.P. Fletcher Sr., 51, of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at his home.
Dennis was born in Upper Darby, Pa., Aug. 25, 1965, to the late David Fletcher and Eileen (Proth) Operseck. He was a graduate of the Lower Cape May Regional High School Class of 1983 in Cape May, N.J.
Dennis worked as an industrial mechanic for 20 years at Sea Watch International, and also owned his own landscaping business called B&D Lawn Care in Georgetown. He was an avid fisherman, practical jokester and a Cowboys football fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Mary Kathleen "Kitty" (Pond) Fletcher; his mother, Eileen Operseck of Seaford; his stepmom, Dorothy Fletcher of Villas, N.J.; three children, Christina (Steven) Gardner of Harrisburg, Pa., Rachel Horan of Milford and Dennis S. Fletcher Jr. of Georgetown; two stepchildren, Heather Marshall of Georgetown and Jasmine Marvel of Georgetown; and his mother-in-law, Darlene Hockman of Georgetown.
Dennis is also survived by nine grandchildren, Aubrey Wiegman, Lyla Fletcher, Mykayla Vanvorst, Dennis S. Fletcher III, Brianna Vanvorst, Sophie Marvel, Noah Gardner, Ryder Marvel and Olivia Vanvorst; four siblings, Debbie Swartz of Lewes, Denise Rix of Athol, Mass., David Fletcher Jr. of Cape May and Eileen Slone of Florida; and a sister-in-law, Janet Reed of Timberville, Va.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. A celebration of his life will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
