Developer withdraws recycling plants applications

The developer of two proposed chicken-litter recycling plants has withdrawn a pair of conditional-use applications.
Clean Bay Renewables LLC had filed applications for two electrical generation plants and nutrient recovery facilities on two parcels totaling more than 50 acres off Route 9 east of Georgetown.
A public hearing had been scheduled for the July 18 Sussex County Council meeting.
At its July 13 meeting, the Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denial of the applications.
