Devour all the activities Milton has to offer at zombie festival Oct. 19-21
The picturesque town of Milton will try to survive a weekend of haunting entertainment of epic proportions, Thursday to Saturday, Oct. 19 to 21. What started as the Zombie Walk in 2014 has become a full-blown Zombie Fest that will transform Milton into an epicenter of the undead.
A monstrosity of entertainment awaits people of all ages as the event brings in mentalists, horror movies, live music and a host of other activities for a full weekend that is sure to stir the undead out of their graves. All proceeds will benefit the Milton Theatre, Milton Historical Society, Milton Fire Department and Casa San Francisco homeless shelter.
Thursday, Oct. 19
Revival House Theatre presents Oh The Horror! at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19. Cult classic "Trick 'r Treat" will be screened, and so will original finalists’ works for the 7-Day Horror Trailer Challenge. Budding filmmakers will have a field day and a chance to win $1,000. Friday, Oct. 20
Nationally touring Nashville-based Dynamo will perform at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20, at Milton Theatre. Formed in late 2012, Dynamo consists of nine core musicians whose music fuses jazz, rock and funk with elements of soul and R&B. The culmination is a sound that's both spontaneous and composed, and an energy that's undeniably infectious. Tickets are $15-$20.
Saturday, Oct. 21
All-day live entertainment
Musical acts of varying genres run from 1:15 to 10 p.m. starting with Margaret Egeln, The Milton Theatre's very own Triple Threat Cast, Ron Thompson, Bryan Scar, Big Dipper, Tyler Greene and Frankie Schline. In the evening, Wild Virtu, Hoochi Coochi and Electric Smoke will light up the stage with music that is sure to stir the undead out of their graves.
Food trucks, vendors, makeup stations and beer tents
Po' Boys, Dino's Ice Cream & Italian Water Ice, Aloha Eastern Shore Coffee and other food trucks will be on the scene to cater to everyone's tastes. There will be plenty of drink options as beer from five different local breweries will be present. Makeup stations will give everyone the chance to be zombies for a day, plus there will be an assortment of vendors with unique and out-of-the-box concepts to pique everyone's interest.
Milton Public Library and Milton Historical Society
A day of fun activities for kids starts at 11 a.m. with a Halloween Magic Show with Brian Richards, followed by a zombie luncheon, face painting, Halloween crafts, games and their very own zombie parade at 2 p.m. Phil Martin, the Broadkill Blogger, will present Murder Most Foul, discussing Mrs. Gordy's murder starting at 3 p.m.
Zombie walk at 8 p.m., zombify your car
As the sun sets, swarms of the undead will fill the streets of downtown Milton. Everyone in the festival is invited to join the zombie walk starting at 8 p.m. Zombies, monsters, ghouls and other malevolent beings will parade the streets of Milton culminating in a dance-along performance by Belles By The Bay to Michael Jackson's iconic "Thriller." Participants who decorate their cars to join the zombie walk will receive six free festival passes (worth $10 each). Whiskey & Randy of Froggy 99.9 will be broadcasting live on the festival grounds.
