Diane E. McKendry, active at First Baptist
Diane E. McKendry died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, in Newark. She was born June 30, 1938, to late parents Earl and Hazel Shaw of Philadelphia, Pa.
She retired from Beebe Hospital after working for 15 years. Diane was a member of The First Baptist Church of Lewes. She enjoyed being a member of the church choir, sending greetings on behalf of the church, and participated in many functions and ongoing services with the congregation.
She is survived by her husband, Oliver McKendry; sons, Chris McKendry (Catherine) and Darren McKendry (Yumi); sisters, Eileen DeMarco (Joseph), Janet Sabins (John), and Carol Shaw. Diane will be missed dearly by many nieces and nephews, and family and friends.
Services will be noon, Saturday, Oct. 14, at The First Baptist Church of Lewes, 1001 Kings Highway, Lewes. Interment will be private.
The family requests no gifts or flowers; instead well-wishers can donate in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org) or The First Baptist Church of Lewes. Arrangements by Cremation Services of Delaware.
