Diane Isabel Stuttard, adored her family

October 5, 2017

Diane Isabel Stuttard, 93, of Georgetown, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Harrison House in Georgetown. She was born Saturday, Nov. 3, 1923, in Glasgow, Scotland, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Lang) Kirkpatrick.

Diane emigrated to Canada in 1930 and graduated from high school in Windsor, Ontario. She worked for Hiram Walkers in Windsor and the J.L. Hudson Co. in Detroit, Mich., before moving to Delaware in 1963 with her husband, Stan, and their family. She then worked for General Motors. In recent years, Diane resided at Harrison House where she enjoyed playing Monday Bingo, going on trips, and all kinds of musical activities with tapping feet and clapping hands. More than anything, however, Diane treasured time spent with her adored family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Stuttard was preceded in death her beloved husband, Stan; and her sisters: Margaret (Rita) and Agnes (Bunny).

She is survived by her son, Stanley (Bill); her daughter and Bingo partner, Heather; her grandson Scott and his wife Stacy; and her great-grandchildren: Sarah Margaret and Sean Scott.

Diane's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Harrison House for giving Diane the best care possible.

Diane's wishes were to rejoin her family in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Diane's memory to the Bingo groups at Harrison House of Georgetown: 110 West North St., Georgetown, DE 19947, or the Delaware State Police K9 Unit Fund, c/o DSP Headquarters: 1441 North Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
