Dining For Down Syndrome set April 25 at Henlopen City Oyster House

April 22, 2017

Henlopen City Oyster House will host a Dining for Down Syndrome event Tuesday, April 25, at 50 Wilmington Ave. in Rehoboth Beach. The restaurant will donate a percentage of the day's sales to support the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk Buddy Walk and Buddy Fest. The restaurant will be festooned in blue and gold, and diners will receive party favors. All that is required is that diners eat, pay the bill and have fun. Henlopen City Oyster House will make their contribution on behalf of the customers.

The Buddy Walk funds local awareness programs such as Best Buddies, Special Olympics, Kent-Sussex Industries, The Salvation Army and local work programs such as Chimes Inc. in Millsboro. The goal of the Buddy Walk is to demonstrate the abilities of people with cognitive disorders so they are accepted and included as valuable members of the community.

This year's Buddy Fest will take place Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6 and 7, in Rehoboth Beach. The award-winning Boardwalk Buddy Walk will be held at 9 a.m., Oct. 7. For more information, go to boardwalkbuddywalk.com or contact michelle@boardwalkbuddywalk.com.
