Disney presentations set at Ellen Rice Gallery in Bethany July 30
Duane the Disney guy will present hourly presentations of What's Happening Around Disney, the World and the Ships from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, July 30, at the Ellen Rice Gallery in downtown Bethany Beach.
Millsboro native Duane Whitman has been putting together detailed Disney vacations for others since Walt Disney World opened in the early 1970s. It was after he joined Glass Slipper Concierge as a Disney-certified travel advisor and began hosting presentations to groups and individuals that people started calling him "Duane the Disney guy."
"I like that people think of me as a go-to for information about vacationing with Disney. I work hard and take pride in offering exemplary assistance booking and planning the fine details of vacations in these places that are so big and diverse and have so many options that planning can be daunting," he says. "You don't want a vacation to be a hassle. You want to relax and just enjoy and make wonderful memories. Making that happen for people is what makes me happy."
While giving a Disney talk in the middle of the summer at a beach resort may seem counterintuitive, Whitman says now is the best time to plan and book vacations with Disney over the holidays, winter months, spring and even next summer.
"There are many changes ahead at Walt Disney World, Disneyland and on the Disney Cruise Line as the Mouse adds new family experiences, two more cruise ships and new ports of call. Adventures by Disney is also on the move, offering guided tours and experiences to new destinations around the globe. I'm here to help navigate," says Whitman.
Whitman is a graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge, a certified Orlando Travel Expert and has made it to the top 10 list of agents with Glass Slipper Concierge, one of a select group of travel agencies throughout the United States with the designation of Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and one of only a handful of agencies in the United States to receive Disney's highest designation: Platinum Level Authorized Disney Vacation Planner Earmarked Agency.
Whitman is familiar to many for his role managing The Ellen Rice Gallery for 17 years, first in Ocean View and now in Bethany Beach. The gallery is a half block from the ocean in the Blue Surf building on the south side of the Bethany Circle, up a few steps and two doors closer to the ocean than Grotto Pizza.
