Divine Tasting for Community Resource Center set Sept. 17

August 20, 2016

The Rev. Jeffrey A. Ross, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and president of the Community Resource Center, is leading a group of CRC friends to host a wine and heavy hors d'oeuvres fundraiser, Divine Tasting for the Community Resource Center. The event is set for 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, at St. Peter's parish hall, 211 Mulberry St. in Lewes.

Attendees will celebrate the end of summer while giving back to the community in a casual party atmosphere. The event features music, great wines, delicious food and a silent auction. While there, attendees can visit the historic church, founded in 1681, and tour the beautiful gardens and labyrinth. Food will be prepared by Gary and Lorraine Papp, proprietors of Palate Bistro and Catering in Rehoboth Beach and The Essential Chef catering in Lewes. Wines will be provided by R&L Liquors of Lewes. Divine Tasting for the Community Resource Center is a 21 and over event.

The Community Resource Center in Rehoboth Beach was created in 2011 to serve as a centralized location to help the needs of eastern Sussex County residents facing crises. The CRC helps individuals and families, regardless of race, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. Everyone has obstacles in their lives, but for those living at or below the poverty line, the means to overcome common obstacles are often out of reach.

With dignity and respect, the CRC helps individuals and families get to the next step of their journey toward self-sufficiency and stability. It has lent a helping hand to neighbors needing assistance with utility bills, rent/mortgage payments, medicine, food/formula, diapers, finding a job, or shelter/housing referrals. Since the program's volunteers donate their time and talent and there are no administrative expenses or staff salaries, every dollar donated to the CRC goes directly to assisting those in need.

All donations to the CRC are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. For more information, go to www.rehobothcommunitycenter.org or call 302-227-1340. Tickets cost $60 each or two for $100. To purchase tickets or to donate, go to www.dtftcrc.eventbrite.com or call 302-227-1340.
