Don’t ignore Sussex Gardeners during festival

April 5, 2017

With great dismay, I read the article in the Spring Home and Garden Guide, a March 24 supplement to the Cape Gazette, regarding the Tulip Festival in Lewes beginning April 7.

Unfortunately, the article ignored the contributions of Sussex Gardeners garden club members, 10 in number, who will be providing fresh tulip arrangements throughout Zwaanendael Museum over the course of the festival.

Months were spent in planning and researching appropriate materials and designs. The arrangements will all be evocative of the style of the Baroque artists of the 17th and 18th centuries, and are guaranteed show stoppers. A visit to the museum should be mandatory for all those who plan on participating in any of the Tulip Festival events.

Note that the arrangements can be viewed during normal museum hours from April 7 through April 15.

The arrangements will be changed midway through the period to assure their freshness.
