Don Flood hit the nail on the head

January 24, 2017

I was happily surprised to see Don Flood's byline in a recent Cape Gazette. I, like many, have missed his thoughtful and reasoned take on the news. His latest missive did not disappoint. He tells the story of the consequences the repeal of the Affordable Care Act would have on a real person right here in Sussex County.

The happiness the man felt when he got coverage and knew his preventive testing would prevent an early death, and the sadness as he realizes it could all be taken away. Sadly, this realization is taking place for people all over this country. Taking healthcare away from 20 million fellow citizens without a replacement in place is just wrong.

As Don Flood says, "It's legislative malpractice." Looking forward to more Don Flood columns in the future.
