Donald Clayton Collins, merchant seaman

Donald Clayton Collins, 75, of Clarksville, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, surrounded by his family after a long illness.
He was born in Roxana to Eli Collins and Agnes (McCabe) Collins Dec. 25, 1941, the seventh of seven children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Eli; and sister, Wanda Collins Conley. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice (Murray) Collins; four daughters, Elaine Coulbourn and husband John of Frankford, Dana Boucher and husband Rob of Millsboro, Lisa Lewis and husband Al of Dagsboro, Donna Hudson and husband Allen of Frankford; three brothers, John Collins and wife Grace of Wenonah, N.J., Leroy Collins of Bellingham, Wash., and Lewis Collins of Seaford; six grandsons; one granddaughter; and five great-grandchildren.
Donald was a merchant seaman with Sun Oil Company for 20 years and with Local 333 for five years.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, at St George's Cemetery in Clarksville. A celebration of his life will follow at 3 p.m., at the Georgia House, 119 Main St., Millsboro, DE 19966.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Donald's name to Compassionate Care Hospice, 20165 Office Circle, Suite 2, Georgetown, DE 19947.
