Donald Norman Halverson, Navy Dept. retiree

Donald Norman Halverson, 87, of Lewes passed away at his home Monday, May 14, 2018. He was born June 5, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Vernon and Enger Mae (Nelson) Halverson.

Don enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951, and retired in March 1973 after 22 years of service. He then worked for Logicon Pfizer and GE. Don also worked for the Department of the Navy for 12 years, retiring in August 1992, when he and his wife retired to Lewes.

In his spare time, Don was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed woodworking.

Mr. Halverson is survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Garrison) Halverson of Lewes; his two sons: Jeffrey (and wife Suzanne) of Florida, and Clifford of California; and his three grandchildren: Daniel, AJ and Renee.

Chapel Committal Services will be held Friday, June 1 at 2 p.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
