Donation allows Saltwater Lacrosse Club to offer financial assistance to young athletes

August 22, 2017

Thanks to a generous grant given to Saltwater Lacrosse Club, the organization announced a scholarship fund for expenses associated with travel lacrosse. "Lacrosse is an amazing sport that every child should have the ability to learn and experience," said Dennis March, club president. "Sometimes, costs to play these travel sports can add up with lodging, gas and equipment. We are thrilled to announce that an anonymous donation has been made to help defray those expenses in case of need."

Saltwater Lacrosse is one of the premier boys' lacrosse clubs based on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware. The club has recently merged with The Dolphins Lacrosse Club to offer a full girls' travel lacrosse club as well. The club is for boys and girls entering third through ninth grades.

"We are very proud of the young athletes that have come together over the past two years to form the Saltwater Lacrosse Club teams," said March. "We are also very lucky to have a group of amazing coaches that volunteer their time and energy to teach the fundamentals of lacrosse and good sportsmanship. It has been thrilling to have the club grow in such a short amount of time from two teams to a full roster of almost 300 youth lacrosse athletes. With the help of this extremely generous donation, we want to make sure that any boy or girl with a passion for lacrosse in Delaware or Eastern Maryland has the opportunity to try out and become a part of Saltwater."
