Dont walk your dog on hot asphalt

July 25, 2016

I recently visited the Milton Farmers Market at its new location at Dogfish Head Brewery. The market is set up on a parking lot, which on very hot days, is scorching hot.

Last Friday was one of those days - it was 100 degrees out and I noticed two people with dogs walking on the blistering pavement.

Thank goodness one lady was nice enough to carry her dog when people voiced their concerns. And the other person took his dog to a shady spot. Folks, if you can't walk on the pavement with your bare feet, please don't put your dog through that. Think of your dog as an infant who requires all of its needs taken care of.

On extremely hot days dogs (and the very young and elderly as well) are better served left at home in air-conditioning. For those of us who care, please speak up when you see an animal that is suffering!
