Dorothy ‘Dot’ Wright, especially loved birds

May 9, 2018

Dorothy "Dot" Wright, 94, of Millsboro, passed peacefully in her sleep Saturday, May 5, 2018.

Dot was born a leap year baby and grew up as a farm girl in the Easton, Md. area. Dot often joked that, since she only had a birthday every four years, she was still in her 20s. She lived many places, had many adventures and made many lasting friends. Dorothy was a great mother and wife who had a special love of birds, nature, cooking and puzzles.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years, James O. Wright Jr.; her parents John and Elva Mulder; her brothers Cornelius, Malcolm and JB; and her sister, Emily.
Survivors include son James Wright and wife Tina of Millsboro; daughter Ann Wright of Albuquerque N.M.; son William Wright of Rising Sun, Md.; grandsons James Wright, TJ Bowerman and William Wright Jr.; as well as her visiting angel and friend Delphine Blake.
Interment will be private. A gathering of friends and family will be held Sunday, May 20, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Baywood Pool Community Center, 32716 Greens Way, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research.
