Dorothy L. ‘Dot’ Hudson, DuPont plant retiree

Dorothy L. “Dot” Hudson of Laurel died in her sleep Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at her home with her son at her side.

Mrs. Hudson was born in Georgetown, the daughter of the late Floyd T. and Mary E. Wilkins. Mrs. Hudson was a retiree of the DuPont Nylon Plant in Seaford, having started when the plant first opened.

She was preceded in death by her husband Preston J. “Pret” Hudson.

She is survived by her son, Preston J. “P.J.” Hudson II of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Thursday, Dec. 21, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or the church or charity of their choice.
