Douglas J. Fearn, retired merchant marine

Douglas J. Fearn, 89, of Seaford, formerly of New Castle, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, with his beloved wife and daughter by his side.
Douglas was born in Southampton, England, June 16, 1927, son of the late Fredrick Charles and Olive May (Dicks) Fearn. He served as a merchant marine with 40 years of service with Getty Oil.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; and is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ella L. (Hutt) Fearn; a son, Douglas Fearn of Elsmere; three daughters, Debra Morris and her husband Robert of Wilmington, Marie Orr and her husband Handley of Dagsboro, and Linda Fearn of Seaford; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be held privately at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle.
